2nd grader dressed as Martin Luther King, Jr. gets in trouble at school
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A second grader in Colorado Springs got in trouble at school for dressing up like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Colorado Springs TV station KRDO showed a picture of Sean King.
He showed up at Meridian Ranch Elementary school Wednesday wearing black face paint for a school project. But the principal told him he needed to wash his face.
Several parents who were at the school for the presentations disagreed with the decision.
But the principal said a teacher and some students were offended, and the face paing was outside the school’s dress code.
The NAACP has come out in support of the principal’s decision.
