Woman trapped after floor collapses at Denver halfway house

DENVER — An elderly disabled woman fell through the floor at a Denver halfway house and was briefly trapped, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The woman, who reportedly weighs 260 pounds, uses an oxygen tank and walks with a cane, was taking a shower when a reportedly rotting floor at Tooley Hall on 43rd and Kearney St. collapsed.

She fell six feet into a crawl space, where she became trapped in a hole of filled with black water.

Firefighters rigged a tripod and were able to pull her out. Any injuries she suffered appeared to be minor.
