BOULDER, Colo. — The University of Colorado graduate who was shot when she walked into the bedroom of a Boulder homeowner appeared in court Monday.

Police say 21-year-old Zoey Ripple was drunk when she walked into Timothy Justice’s home in the 400 block of College Ave.

Ripple faces felony trespassing charges. Court records show her blood alcohol level was .20.

Justice will not face any charges as the case falls under Colorado’s “Make My Day” law where homeowners are allowed to use force to protect themselves and their family from intruders.

Monday’s court appearance was a status update in the case against Ripple.
