Crocs co-founder arrested for DUI, claims he’s dating Taylor Swift
BOULDER, Colo. — One of the co-founders of Colorado-based Crocs Inc. is facing charges that he was driving under the influence over the weekend after he was found passed out in his Porsche and claiming a country star had been in the cab with him.
The Boulder Daily Camera is reporting that George Brian Boedecker Jr. was arrested when police received a call about a man passed out behind the wheel of a Porsche Carrera that was running and parked partially on the sidewalk.
When Boulder Police arrived on scene, Boedecker told them — with slurred speech and alcohol on his breath — that his girlfriend had been driving the car. His girlfriend? Boedecker told police it was country singer Taylor Swift.
Boedecker is free on $500 bond.
The 51-year-old founded the shoe manufacturer a decade ago in Niwot with friends Scott Seamans and Lyndon Hanson. The company is now worth $1 billion, and CEO John McCarvel was invited to ring the NASDAQ opening bell last month.
