DENVER — KDVR meteorologist Chris Tomer is urging Coloradans to enjoy the 80-degree temperatures he has in his forecast for Monday. That’s because today may be “the warm before the cold front.”

Tomer is expecting Denver to see the coldest temperatures of the summer season this week, as highs in Denver on Thursday might struggle to get above 60 degrees.

“Two cold fronts are en route,” Tomer said. “And they’re bringing the coolest air of the season with them.”

The first cold front is expected to roll through late in the evening on Tuesday, with some gusty wind and a chance for rain showers possible heading into Wednesday morning.

Tomer expects the high temperatures on Wednesday to be cool and in the mid 70s.  Partly to mostly cloudy skies will prevail from Wednesday into Thursday, Tomer said, as the second cold front slides in.

If the high temperatures creep into the 60s on Thursday, don’t expect them to get much warmer. Thankfully, Fall hasn’t fully set in just yet, and temperatures on Friday and Saturday may prove it.

Expect the heat to return, along with temperatures in the mid 80s.
