Bomb squad investigates suspicious package behind Aurora businesses

AURORA, Colo. — Three businesses in a strip mall at in Aurora were evacuated Monday after the discovery of a suspicious package.

The call about the package behind the businesses came to Aurora police at 2:36 p.m. The package was behind a liquor store in the Aurora Park shopping center on the Northeast corner of E. Alameda Ave. and S. Sable St.

Police spokeswoman Cassidee Carlson says the small box contained a toy gun in a holster. The Arapahoe County bomb squad detonated the box to neutralize any potential hazards.

The businesses that closed reopened after police gave the all clear.
