LONGMONT, Colo. — A man driving a Ford Explorer near Longmont came up on a couple of bicyclists Sunday and drove behind them while repeatedly honking his horn at them. It was an unnerving experience to say the least.
The video of the incident was posted on YouTube and by Tuesday, the Colorado State Patrol was involved.
The bicyclists recorded the whole incident which took place on a road east of Longmont. In the video they show how they are riding well to the side of the road. The driver slows down to stay behind them and honk his horn over and over again.
“Here is what was supposed to be my relaxing Sunday morning ride with my teammate until things became a bit unsettling when an older male driver came up behind us in his Ford Explorer,” one of the bicyclists says.
“This guy obviously doesn’t like seeing bikes for some reason since he sat behind us for more than five minutes blaring his horn.”
“This guy was so intent of bugging us that he backed up traffic behind him and cars had to pass him on a double yellow line,” the bicyclist says.
The State Patrol told FOX31 Denver that investigators intended to talk to the driver about the incident. It’s not clear if there are any possible charges involved.
