Use these suggested detours during I-25 debate closure

Road closed sign

DENVER — I-25 is probably a good place to avoid Wednesday afternoon, as a major closure will be in place by 5 p.m. between Hampden and Santa Fe for the presidential debate.

University Blvd. will also close between Evans Ave. and Louisiana Ave.  Buchtel Blvd. from University to Franklin closed on Tuesday because of its close proximity to the debate hall at the University of Denver.

The Colorado Department of Transportation suggests northbound I-25 drivers take Hampden to Santa Fe, Broadway or Colorado Blvd. and then head north.

Southbound drivers should take Santa Fe or I-70 to C-470 around the city.
