Software problems affect concourse trains at DIA, cause delays
Wait lines were about an hour at DIA after a software problem interrupted the service of the airport's concourse trains on Oct. 12, 2012.
UPDATE, 1 PM: According to DIA officials, security wait times are now back to normal, which is 10 minutes or less.
UPDATE, 10:50 AM: Train operations are returning to near normal, but at a reduced capacity. Security wait times are still approximately one hour.
DENVER — According to airport authorities, the Denver International Airport is expecting delays on Friday after experiencing software issues in the morning.
At 7:30 a.m., the airport began reporting the technical difficulties, which caused the trains that take passengers to the concourses and main terminal to stop for a short period of time. Everyone on those trains was able to get off safely, according to the airport.
The airport then performed an override of its train software and began to operate it manually, which causes trains to run slowly. As of 8:45 a.m., all passengers were being routed to the “A” screening checkpoint, were they were being taken by bus to their concourses.
DIA said all of the airlines are aware of the difficulties the software glitch has caused, and as of 8:45 a.m., the airport was unaware of any passengers that had missed their flight.
