LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Police officer James “Jim” Davies was killed early Friday morning while responding to a report of a prowler and shots fired in the 1900 block of Eaton St. in Edgwater.

Davies was mistakenly shot and killed by a fellow officer.

Spokesman Steve Davis announced the news during a press conference Friday afternoon.
