Police arrest one, search for other involved in Lakewood bar murder
LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Police are trying to figure out how a man died after he was thrown out of a bar early Sunday morning.
According to the Lakewood Police Department, officers responded to reports of an unresponsive man in a parking lot of the Nite Owl Sports Bar at 1050 S. Wadsworth at approximately 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
When they arrived at the scene, police found a 34-year-old man lying in the parking lot, according to authorities.
Police said the man was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators learned that the victim had been asked to leave the bar after he became “belligerent” with other people inside. He was escorted out of the bar after returning a second time.
Detectives said there was a fight between the victim and two other males, who police have identified as 46-year-old Thomas John Perez, and 30-year-old Vincente Matthew Baros.
Perez has been arrested for second degree murder, and is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail.
Investigators are still looking for Baros, who has an active warrant out for his arrest for second degree murder.
The victim’s name has not been released, and investigators are trying to determine the cause of death.
The Lakewood is asking the public for help in locating Baros. Police described him as a Hispanic male, who is approximately 5-foot-10, 260 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. He wears glasses and has numerous tattoos, according to police.
