Fort Carson GI held on sex assault, child luring charges

DENVER — A soldier based at Fort Carson has been arrested on a charge of sexual assault on a child and child luring, police said Monday.

1st Lt. Aaron G. Lucas is being held on several warrants for alleged crimes that date back two years.

Fountain police formed a task force to investigate the claims against Lucas. Police said in a news release that “Lucas exposed himself and lured or attempted to lure several young female victims under the age of twelve to commit sexual acts with him.”

Investigators from Colorado Springs, El Paso County and the Army have all been looking into sexual assault claims as well.

One incident allegedly involving Lucas involved a 9-year-old girl on June 19.

Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Joe Roybal wrote the girl was “physically forced into a vehicle being driven by a white, bald male. The victim was dropped off a short time later in a nearby neighborhood.”

Lucas is being held in the El Paso County jail.
