Jury hung on murder charge against man in death of his estranged wife
Golden, Colo. — A jury convicted a man on two counts Monday related to the death of his estranged wife. But the jury was hung on the murder charge against Daniel DeWild.
The jury did convict the 40-year-old DeWild of conspiracy to commit murder and accessory to murder. His wife, Heather disappeared about one week before the couple’s final divorce hearing in July 2003.
Her body was found more than a month later in a roadside grave in Golden. The mother of two was 30 years old when she was killed.
Daniel’s twin brother, David, pleaded guilty earlier this year to conspiracy to commit murder in his sister-in-law’s death.
Accessory charges in the case against David’s wife, Mary DeWild, were dropped last month.
