DENVER — La Plata County officials are scouring the Vallecito Valley looking for a 13-year-old teen who went missing from his home Monday morning.

Dylan Redwine was reported missing from his father’s house north of Vallecito Lake. He went missing sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., said Dan Bender of the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office. Vallecito is near Durango.

He is 5 feet tall and weighs 105 pounds and has medium-length blonde hair and blue eyes.

Dylan is from Colorado Springs and was visiting his father, reported the Durango Herald.

The boy’s parents are divorced and it’s not yet clear if he was upset and ran away from home or if other factors are in play.

“At this time we’re exploring all possibilities,” Bender told the Herald.

Authorities said Dylan used to live in Vallecito and they have been contacting his friends who live in the area.

Dylan may have been wearing a backpack when he went missing, Bender said. When he arrived at his father’s house he had one, but the father stated that it was not at the house.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Dylan is asked to call the La Plata County Dispatch Center at 385-2900.
