Denver man beaten during robbery

DENVER – A Denver man was severely beaten during a robbery Monday night, police said.

According to Denver police the homeowner was found badly beaten in the basement. He was apparently the victim of a robbery.

Police searched the homes windows looking for a point of entry. They also spent time inside trying to find something that would help them identify a suspect.

“Police were talking about glass being broken [a couple days ago] outside the house,” said neighbor Jacob Schwoop.

The homeowner’s name has not yet been released. He is listed in critical condition at Denver Health.

Neighbors say the area is quiet and they are disturbed to hear about the incident.

“I just had a baby,” said Andrea Hollingsed. “I’m home, and so if anybody would come and do that to me, it would be really scary.”
