Winning Powerball jackpot tickets sold in Missouri, Arizona
DENVER — Two Powerball ticket holders were a lot wealthier Thursday after hitting the game’s biggest jackpot in history.
The winning tickets were sold in Arizona and Missouri.
The winners will split the record-breaking estimated jackpot of $580 million.
A ticket sold in Colorado won $2 million according to lottery Powerball officials.
The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night were 5-23-16-22-29 and the Powerball was 6.
The prize for the lottery — held in 42 states, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia — swelled to historic levels after the jackpot rolled over 16 times without a winner.
It was not known Thursday morning whether the jackpot tickets were sold to individuals or groups.
