COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Commerce City police say a man called 911 just after midnight Sunday to report that he had killed a 14-year-old and wanted to turn himself in.

On Wednesday morning, it was confirmed that police have place an immigration hold on that man, Esequiel Padilla-Villalobos, meaning the 24-year-old could be deported.

Padilla-Villalobos, who is being held in the Adams County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, cooperated with investigators and gave them the location of the female victim. Police said she was found in near Verbena Street and E. 86th Avenue.

The victim’s name has not yet been released, nor has her cause of death. Investigators believe Padilla-Villalobos knows the victim, but they have not elaborated on any relationship the two may have had.
