DENVER — This weekend’s swim meet will be a bittersweet one for Missy Franklin as she wraps up her high school swimming career for good.

“I cannot fit how much these girls mean to me into 140 characters so all I’m going to say is #iloveyou and #thankyou,” the Olympic gold medalist tweeted Saturday along with a picture of her Regis Jesuit teammates.

The Colorado State High School Championships kicked off Friday night in Fort Collins and are set to continue at 2 p.m. today. After posting yet another state record time in Friday’s preliminaries, Franklin will be looking to smash a national high school record today in the 200-meter individual medley, according to Swimming World Magazine. The event is expected to draw a massive crowd.
