Colorado Springs police discover shooting victim
Colorado Springs police responding to an unrelated call discovered a shooting victim early this morning, the Colorado Springs Police Department reported.
Officers in the area of Vermijo and Chestnut streets heard gunshots about 3:50 a.m., police said. Upon searching, they found an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital in serious to critical condition.
In a media release, police noted that the shooting occurred near the local headquarters of the Sin City Deciples, an “outlaw” motorcycle club. The clubhouse made headlines in June of 2012 after a man was shot to death outside following a fight with Deciples members.
Vermijo Street was expected to be closed for several hours while police processed the scene.
