DENVER — The driver of a car involved in a fatal wrong-way collision turned herself in to face multiple charges Thursday, Westminster police said in a media release.

Britni June Bunn of Broomfield, 23, was taken into custody on suspicion of vehicular homicide, among other charges.

The accident occurred Wednesday morning about 2:45 a.m. when a Ford Escape allegedly driven by Bunn went the wrong way on the eastbound lanes of US 36 and slammed head-on into an Acura coupe between Wadsworth Parkway and Sheridan Boulevard.

Bunn’s passenger, 25-year-old Vincent Gibson, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other victims were also taken to local hospitals for treatment.

That portion of US 36 is under construction, but the initial investigation does not indicate that it was a factor in the crash, police said.

Drugs or alcohol are suspected as being factors in the crash, Westminster police said.
