THORNTON, Colo. — The district attorney filed first-degree murder charges Friday in bar shooting that left one man dead last weekend.
Mario Moses Oliveros, 38, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and five counts of attempted first-degree murder as well as possession of a weapon by a previous offender, said Sue Lindsay of the Adams/Broomfield Counties District Attorneys Office.
Oliveros is accused of shooting and killing Jose Horner, of Westminster, at the Chamucos bar in Thornton February 24.
Thornton police said the shooting happened after a bar fight around 1:30 a.m.
As a group of three men and two women were being escorted from the bar, one person pulled a gun and fired several shots, police said.
Horner, 45, was hit. He died in the hospital several days later.
Oliveros was arrested at his home on Sunday.
Lindsay said he is scheduled to appear in Adams County Court on May 10.
