BOULDER, Colo. — An accused peeping Tom started by telling Boulder Police he “wanted to be honest.”
In the process of doing so, Rory Shane Reily admitted to climbing the roof of a residence in the 900 block of Euclid Avenue on Saturday night to get “a better view” after catching a glimpse of a naked female showering on the second story.
“I was walking down the alley when I observed the silhouette of a naked female and being a male, I was intrigued,” Reily reportedly told officers. “So I climbed on the roof for a better view to peep her.”
Police said one of the woman’s roommates initially reported seeing a man wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt on her roof at 7:12 p.m. She said the hood of the sweatshirt was up, concealing the man’s face.
After the man was spotted, the reporting party said he jumped off the roof and fled.
Shortly after officers responded to the call, a plain clothes unit found a man wearing similar clothing and approached him. Reily made his admission at that point in time.
His clothing was later positively identified by the reporting party.
Reily told officers he was on his way to Chipolte when the naked woman caught his eye. But when questioned by officers about whether he has attempted to peep at the house’s residents prior to Saturday, he said he had “never been down that way before.”
