LONGMONT, Colo. — Longmont police arrested a 26-year-old man after they said he stabbed his roommate during an argument over $21.
Joshua Leclaire faces charges including felony menacing and second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, first-degree assault with intent to cause serious bodily injury and possession of a dangerous or illegal weapon.
Police said he stabbed his roommate at their home on Snowberry Street just after 5 p.m. Sunday.
Witnesses reported Leclaire and his 24-year-old roommate had been arguing over a $21 debt earlier in the day.
The roommate was stabbed in the back above his left shoulder blade, police said. Another roommate was able to break up the fight and help the victim.
Leclaire told police the victim had threatened him. Leclaire also said he was upset because the victim had been dealing heroin out of the home, according to the police report.
Officers searched the home and did recover some drug paraphernalia.
