Storm could bring heavy snow to Denver this weekend
DENVER — It’s March and it’s the snowiest month of the year in Denver. It didn’t live up to its reputation last year, but maybe it will try to this year.
We’re in for some mild, sunny weather for the next couple of days. Highs in metro Denver will get into the upper 50s Wednesday and there will be some 60s Thursday.
A big winter storm is taking aim at metro Denver and the Front Range beginning Friday night, and it will be here all weekend according to Chief Meteorologist Dave Fraser.
“Expect snow showers Friday night, heavy snow on Saturday and lingering snow through Sunday,” he says.
“Temperatures will turn much colder with highs only in the 30s. Accumulation could easily be 6″ or more in Denver.”
Fraser says the way things look right now, there is potential for up to 10″ or even 12″ in parts of the city. But the storm is still a few days away.
We’ll keep you updated as it gets closer to Colorado.
