AURORA, Colo. — A man who stole multiple vehicles was involved in several different accidents as he sped through Aurora on Monday morning.

Aurora Police Department spokesperson Mark Walters said the suspect was initially spotted traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of South Tower Road in a sedan around 6:45 a.m.

That vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a vehicle carrying a mother and child near the intersection of South Tower Road and East Evans Avenue, at which point Walters said the suspect fled on foot. The mother and child have both been transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.

Walter described the suspect as a white male with blonde hair who is about 6-feet tall.

Police spotted a man matching that description driving a light blue flat bed tow truck, and confirmed the vehicle had been involved in at least three accidents along 6th Avenue. SkyFox showed that tow truck abandoned at 3939 West Colfax Avenue around 7:50 a.m.

Denver Police also believe an accident involving a small blue sedan and large truck near the intersection of West Colfax Avenue and East Perry Street is also connected to this suspect.

As of 8:20 a.m., police scanner traffic indicated the same suspect had stolen a gray 2006 Nissan Pathfinder and was headed west towards Lakewood on Colfax Avenue. Those reports were unconfirmed as of 8:40 a.m.
