DENVER — Much of Blake Street downtown will be closed for the St. Patrick’s Day parade Saturday.

Closures are expected to start at 9 a.m. and go through 3 p.m., said Emily Williams of Denver Public Works.

The road closures include:

Exit from Southbound I-25 to Park Avenue West/38th Avenue will be closed
20th Street will be closed from Wazee Street to Market Street
Blake Street will be closed from 28th Street to 17th Street

The parade will start at the intersection of Blake and 27th streets and goes down Blake to 17th. It then turns right on to Wynkoop Street and finishes at Coors field.

Williams said drivers trying to get downtown for the parade should use Colfax Avenue, Speer Boulevard.

Parking is limited downtown and the public is encouraged to take public transport. The Union Station light rail stop is very near the parade route and is a good option.

Lots of bars and restaurants downtown will have St. Patrick’s Day events. For a full list visit denverstpatricksdayparade.com.
