MANHATTAN — According to the New York Daily News, a Manhattan woman wrote a 13-page suicide note before she strapped her 10-month-old son to her chest and jumped to her death from an eight-story window in Harlem on Wednesday.

The baby managed to survive with little more than scratches and was in stable condition Wednesday night, according to the paper.

“I heard a small scream when she was in the air,” witness Steven Dominguez said. “I noticed something falling, but I didn’t want to believe it was a person.”

Cynthia Wachenheim, 44, wrote that she was a bad mother in the handwritten letter before jumping from the building.

“She thinks she’s a failing mother. On the last page, she refers to postpartum depression. She was supposed to see a therapist, but she blew him off,” a source said.

Wachenheim’s baby, Keston, reportedly bounced off of her chest and onto the floor.

Neighbors reported hearing yelling coming from Wachenheim’s apartment before she jumped.
