3 indicted in 2008 shooting of Grizzly Rose guard

DENVER — A Grand Jury has indicted three people in connection with the shooting death of a security guard outside the Grizzly Rose back in 2008.

Gerald Gurule, Jennifer Lewis and Stanely Gurule have been charged in connection with the shooting that killed Timothy Minnick on December 12.

All three were arrested Tuesday after a Grand Jury returned an indictment on March 13.

Minnick, a former Brighton police officer, was killed when he and a partner confronted three men wearing hooded sweatshirts and bandannas over their faces in the parking lot of the popular country bar.

One of the hooded men drew a pistol and opened fire. Minnick was hit and later died at the hospital.

The three escaped in an SUV.

The Adams County District Attorney did not release what evidence led investigators to the three suspects saying the investigation was still ongoing.

Both Lewis and Gerald Gurule faces charges including two counts of first-degree murder, four counts of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of felony menacing, said Sue Lindsay of the DA’s office.

Lewis also faces six counts of accessory to a crime, Lindsay said.

Stanely Gurule has been charged with two counts of being an accessory to a crime.
