COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Colorado Springs police are searching for at least three suspects that they say fired more more than 10 rounds in the direction of an unoccupied elementary school early Thursday morning.
According to KXRM, police said at least three suspects fired about 11 rounds near Canon Elementary School, located in the 1200 block of West Cheyenne Road, between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
The school was unoccupied, but one of the rounds hit a window and caused a small amount of damage, police said.
According to police, the suspects left the area in a pair of vehicles — a silver Volkswagen Jetta and a red 1990s model Oldsmobile.
