DENVER — Folks getting out to enjoy the sun in Washington Park ahead of the snow expected to hit Denver Friday evening were treated to a special surprise.

A Bald Eagle.

A bevy of park-goers stopped to photograph the bird shortly after 10 a.m. KWGN Daybreak anchor Tom Green was one of them.

Green said a man with a scope lens near him was able to get an up-close at the eagle, and said he believed it was an adult male.

By 10:45, pedestrians rushing to the park trying to get a glimpse of the spectacular creature were disappointed, saying it appeared the bird had taken flight.
