PARKER, Colo. — Police were looking for a 9-year-old boy Thursday night who may have been kidnapped.

They were searching for a child by the name of Marcel who they say called 911 on a cell phone to say he had been kidnapped and was in the back of a car.

The call came between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m. according to Parker Police spokesman Sgt. Andrew Coleman.

The caller on the phone told a dispatcher he was walking to a grocery store when a white man grabbed him and put him inside the trunk of a blue Subaru wagon.

Coleman says police don’t know where the child was calling from and they used GPS to try to track the call. They searched the area around E470 and Parker Rd. but found nothing.

They sent emergency notification calls to residents. No parent had reported a missing child as of 9 p.m.

At approximately 5:45 p.m. Denver Police 911 received a similar call from someone who might have been a boy.

Denver Police say the caller told a dispatcher he had called before. When the dispatcher asked why he called, he said because he had been kidnapped.

Denver traced that call to the 6600 block of E. Colfax Ave. Officers responded but found no sign of a child or the blue vehicle. They notified Parker Police about the call and the result of their response.

Police broke down their command post for this case late Thursday night. They had no solid leads and could not confirm that a kidnapping actually happened.
