DENVER — Hundreds of customers waited in a line that wrapped around the building for the grand opening of Sprouts Farmers Market Wednesday morning.
This is the third Sprouts location to open in the Denver metro area.
The first 200 shoppers received a free grocery bag filled with items from the store, and people started waiting in line as early as 10:30 p.m. Tuesday to get their chance at snagging a few grand opening giveaways.
Those who arrived as early as 5 a.m. were treated to coffee and a muffin, while live music was provided while they waited for the doors to open.
The newest Sprouts, located on Colfax Ave. & Colorado Blvd. between Monroe and Garfield streets, is part of a new revitalization of the area to include grocery stores that offer affordable and healthy food.
“We’re excited to be part of the Colfax neighborhood,” said Sprouts President and CEO Doug Sanders. “We’ve become part of metro Denver, and are looking forward to meeting our new neighbors and becoming part of this community.”
There will be more giveaways at the store on Saturday, including free sandwich coupons for the first 300 customers, as well as $20 off your purchase tickets hidden throughout the store.
