WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — An overnight standoff ended in the Friday morning arrest of a man suspected in a stabbing that landed a teen in the intensive care unit Thursday night.

According to Wheat Ridge Police, Angelo Ortiz was arrested at the home of a family member near the intersection of 26th and Sheridan around 5:30 a.m. Friday. A SWAT team was on hand to assist in the arrest.

The arrest was made after Ortiz fled the scene of a stabbing that police say he committed in Wheat Ridge Thursday night.

One juvenile male was injured in the stabbing, and was taken to a nearby hospital’s ICU Thursday night. The condition and identity of the teen were not available early Friday morning.
