Denver Nuggets star Ty Lawson arrested, accused of harassment

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. — Denver Nuggets starting guard Ty Lawson was arrested Saturday on accusations of harassment and criminal mischief.
He appeared in court Monday to face misdemeanor charges of harassment involving striking, shoving or kicking and criminal mischief under $500.
Arapahoe County Sheriff’s deputies took him into custody following the incident. A court document says a mandatory restraining order has been put in place against Lawson.
The Nuggets’ star posted $1,000 personal recognizance bond at a court hearing Monday morning.
Lawson begins the first season of a four-year contract extension this year according to ESPN.com. The contract is reportedly worth $48 million.
Lawson averaged 16.7 points for Denver during the 2012-13 season. He’s averaged 13.2 points during his four years in the NBA.
