Jana Winter may reveal source of Holmes’ notebook
Fox News journalist Jana Winter is due back in an Arapahoe County court Monday to fight efforts by defense lawyers to compel her to divulge confidential sources she cited in a story about accused movie theater gunman James Holmes’ plans to commit mass murder.
Holmes defense has accused the government of leaking information in violation of a court-imposed gag order and are demanding that prosecutors be sanctioned, arguing that Winter’s article undermined their client’s right to a fair trial.
Committee begins addressing Amendment 64 regulations
Denver’s Amendment 64 committee will begin making some big decisions on how to regulate marijuana Monday. The city council has exactly one week until they vote on how much to tax the drug, and a little over a month to formally approve rules and regulations. On Monday night, the council will discuss whether to put measure concerning the proposed a 5-percent sales tax on the ballot in November.

Broncos’ Bailey, Wolfe get good news about injuries
Four Broncos went down with injuries during the team’s 40-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday. But as of Monday morning, the team had received some good news about two of the players who suffered the most severe dings. The x-rays of Champ Bailey’s sprained foot were negative, and Derek Wolfe, who was taken away from the field in an ambulance, tweeted that he will be back on the field soon.

The proposal is mostly a response by Weld County officials disappointed in the new gun lawspassed by the state government.
Family: Lost dogs re-adopted before we had chance to claim them
A Parker family says their two dogs who went missing from their home were adopted out of a shelter last week before they could rescue them. Parker Police are now investigating because it was one of their officers who took the dogs to the shelter and no one told the family.
Weather expected to provide good news for crews battling Idaho fire
The Beaver Creek Fire raged in Idaho’s Wood River Valley over the weekend, growing from 64,000 acres on Friday to nearly 93,000 on Saturday. The blaze was pushed in large part by strong winds, low humidity and dry brush. That weather pattern was expected to change on Monday, with cloud cover and higher humidity moving into the region.

Oscar Pistorius, the famous South African paralympian dubbed the “Blade Runner,” will go on trial on March 3, accused of premeditated murder in the death of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. At a hearing Monday, prosecutors indicted Pistorius in the Valentine’s Day shooting death.
