Man pinned beneath 2-ton boulder expected to survive
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Rescuers worked feverishly Monday afternoon to free a landscaper pinned beneath a boulder.
The man was attempting to remove a tree in the Broadmoor Bluffs neighborhood of Colorado Springs about 12:30 p.m. when a large rock rolled onto him, KRDO reported. Firefighters estimated the weight of the boulder to be two tons.
The man remained trapped for more than an hour, but was reportedly conscious and talking to responders. He was finally freed shortly before 2 p.m. The man was hurt, but was expected to survive.
