Teen accused of making bomb threat faces attempted murder charge
BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — A high school student was in court Wednesday facing charges related to making a bomb threat at his school last May.
Andrew De Bartolome, 16, is charged with five felonies including attempted murder. He has been charged as an adult.
Police found the bomb pack at Centaurus High School in Lafayette.
They say the device could have killed or maimed several people if it had detonated.
The teenager says he made the bomb as a prank.
One of the things we learned in court Wednesday was that the suspect’s mother called authorities in the past because she was concerned he was making explosives. But a search at that time didn’t turn up anything dangerous.
