Concrete chunks from crumbling bridge hit woman’s car in Denver
DENVER — “Danielle” was simply trying to drive and get breakfast. She got more than a meal.
Danielle, who doesn’t want her full name released, says she was driving through a concrete structure at 13th & Arapahoe Friday morning when chunks fell on her hood and windshield.
“It was a large crash,” she says. She and a passenger were not hurt, but it was enough for Danielle to call the city of Denver.
The structure over the street is at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
Dan Rowland, Assistant Director, Marketing & Communications for Denver Arts & Venues, says the structure is sound and engineers will continue to monitor the area.
Rowland says the structure is between “30-35 years old.”
