Larimer County residents rebuild their own road
LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — Michael DeMiranda is one of those who never left.
For the past week, since the deadly floods hit Colorado, he has shot video of rising waters covering his property in Buckhorn Canyon. Water has destroyed a part of County Road 44H.
Despite the danger, though, he says his house is not in jeopardy. DeMiranda is not waiting for crews to repair his road, though. He, and a group of neighbors, are doing the work themselves. He says the restoration process is “85-90%” complete.
