DENVER — A multi-vehicle accident causing serious slowdowns Monday morning on Interstate 70.
The accident happened about 6:30 a.m. on eastbound I-70 near Quebec Street, the Denver Police Department reported. At least a dozen vehicles were involved and the left two lanes of eastbound Quebec were blocked for more than an hour.
Police had pulled over a vehicle at the scene and were arresting a suspect on suspicion of drug possession when the crashes occurred, possibly as a result of “rubberneckers” trying to watch the arrest.
No serious injuries were reported.
