Fort Collins police shoot suicidal man armed with handgun
FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Fort Collins police shot a 24-year-old man on Sunday after he reportedly pointed a handgun at officers.
Jordan Koehn, a CSU student, was allegedly drunk and suicidal when police were called to his residence at 3501 Stover St. about 6:42 p.m., the Fort Collin Police Department said. Shortly after police arrived, Koehn reportedly grabbed a handgun, pointing it at himself and, eventually, at officers.
One officer fired four rounds, all of which hit Koehn. He was taken to the hospital for surgery, and remains hospitalized in unknown condition.
Per protocol, the officer who shot Koehn was placed on paid leave while the shooting is investigated.
