Motorcyclist dies after colliding with stalled SUV
LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A motorcyclist was killed Sunday night after he crashed into the back of an SUV that had stalled in the traffic lane, the Lakewood Police Department said.
The incident happened about 11:40 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Sheridan Boulevard, just north of Ohio Avenue, police said.
Two motorcycles in the midst of passing a vehicle came upon a stalled black Ford Explorer, witnesses said. One motorcycle avoided the Explorer, but the other hit it. The motorcycle driver, 42-year-old Jason Wood, died at the scene.
Police do not believe excessive speed or substance use were factors in the case, but toxicology tests were under way.
