‘Peyton’s coming home’ video cheers Manning’s return to Indy
A group of high school students in Indianapolis created a parody of the DirecTV “Football on Your Phone” commercial staring Peyton and Eli Manning.
The Mannings starred in the DirecTV commercial about watching NFL games on cell phones.
In this version the students pretend to be the Manning brothers and rap “Peyton’s coming home.”
Students Alec DeFord, Cameron Buck, Jayden Moore and Haiden Widener, along with a teacher at Decatur Central High School made the video, reported WRTV.
“I’ve always been a really big Peyton Manning fan,” Widener told the station. “Whenever he left, the whole Indianapolis was sad about it. Everybody was upset.”
The video had 40,000 viewers Tuesday afternoon.
The students said they hope Peyton will appreciate the video’s welcome message.
“It’s kind of cool that we can make him feel like he’s still welcome here,” Widener said.
