Police: Bank robber uses Denver taxi cab as getaway car

DENVER — Police in Denver are searching for a man who they believe jumped in a taxi cab after robbing a bank Tuesday morning.

Police say the man robbed the US Bank on Mississippi Avenue and South Broadway at about 10:30 a.m.

According to witnesses, the suspect hopped into a Metro Cab after fleeing the bank.

The robber is described as a balding white male in his early 50s, who was wearing wire rim glasses. The suspect is about 6-foot-2 with a thin build, and was wearing a black and white striped shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Officers are trying to contact Metro Cab for more information about the incident.
