Tip about explosive device leads to bomb squad search at Chatfield H.S.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — The bomb squad searched Chatfield High School Wednesday after a tip that someone who lived with two students allegedly had an explosive device at home.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Mark Techmeyer says a device was found at the home in the 10600 block of Dakan Mountain Road. The bomb squad took care of it and there were no evacuations ordered.
A letter from the school to parents says a student who is not enrolled at the school right now — but who lives with two students who are — had a device at the house.
The school was searched and nothing was found.
Techmeyer says the investigation is continuing.
