Greeley man sentenced to prison for underwear thefts
GREELEY, Colo. — A 40-year-old Greeley man was sentenced to four years in prison for stealing women’s underwear from an apartment complex.
Joey Eugene Gallegos pleaded guilty to felony second-degree burglary and misdemeanor theft Friday. He was immediately sentenced, said Pamela Dickman of the Weld County District Attorney’s Office.
He was arrested by Greeley police on Aug. 1. Police said he took underwear from the laundry room and apartments at the complex on 30th Street, Dickman said.
Inside a home a block away detectives found more than 350 items of women’s clothing — all believed to have been stolen.
Also during the Friday hearing, Gallegos pleaded guilty to driving without a license and sentenced to 15 months in prison. His sentence will be served concurrently.
