Police need help identifying possible witness to fatal Edgewater shooting
DENVER — Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying a possible witness who may have seen a shooting that killed a man in Edgewater Thursday afternoon.
Police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in a home located at 2555 Sheridan Blvd. Thursday. Officers do not believe the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.
The victim, John Goggin, was rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Goggin was renting a garage at the home for the past four years. He worked at a nearby Sonic restaurant, and hung out with employees at a pawn shop just down the street.
One of the employees told FOX31 Goggin was always smiling.
Edgewater Police, along with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Westminster Police and the Wheat Ridge Police Department are asking for help identifying the man seen wearing a hat in the pictures below.
Investigators believe the man may be associated with a green or blue 2004 to 2007 model Kia Sportage.
