Colorado health insurance marketplace releases new website metrics
DENVER — Connect for Health Colorado released on Monday metrics detailing the first three weeks of the health insurance exchange’s operations.
“Colorado’s health insurance marketplace has seen steady interest since our launch,” CEO Patty Fontneau said. “In our first three weeks in business, we have had over 300,000 visitors to our site, with over 40,000 consumers creating accounts to purchase insurance.”
The site, organized under the new Affordable Care Act, has seen 316,326 unique visitors so far, organizers said. In all, 44,935 accounts were created and 3,164 people have enrolled in health insurance programs.
Open enrollment continues until March 31, 2014. Individuals and families can choose from up to 150 private health insurance plans from 10 carriers, and small employers can create small group plans from up to 92 health insurance plans provided by six carriers.
The marketplace’s customer service center is open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays at 1-855-752-6749.
