LONGMONT, Colo. — A skydiver suffered moderate injuries Sunday afternoon after he came in for a rough landing at an airport in Longmont, police said.
An experienced, 30-year-old man was skydiving with a group above Longmont Vance Brand Airport, the Longmont Police Department said.
The man deployed his parachute and was practicing making turns in the air, witnesses said. As he prepared to land, he accidentally turned into the wind and fell into the ground at a speed of about 15 mph, LPD said.
The man suffered facial injuries, as well as a possible concussion and possible broken leg. However, he was awake and speaking to rescue units, police said.
