ARVADA, Colo. — The Arvada Fire Department says investigators believe two recent fires in that city were intentionally set.
The first one happened Saturday at Terrace Park, 8700 W. 53rd Ave. just before 6 a.m. The fire department says several neighbors reported hearing an explosion before the fire. They also reported seeing three people running from the park just after the fire started.
The second fire started just before 1 a.m. Monday at 6863 Marshall St. “This fire was in an unoccupied, single-family home and there were heavy fire conditions when firefighters arrived on scene,” a fire department statement says.
Investigators do not know if the two fires are connected. They happened at different times at locations in Arvada that are not close together.
